Blackwater - Kerstin Ekman A very bleak and descriptive mystery/thriller. You can almost feel the rich earth of the Swedish countryside, as it seeps out of the pages. Lots of interesting cultural aspects to this as well. Every character seems to be so wound up and complex it's hard to predict the end of this novel, paranoia envelopes everyone. I've often heard that 4 is the number of death, the book ends at page 444, and 3 deaths occur, coincidence?

Also, I never knew that eels could live for 100 years.
